I have a diverse background before becoming a chiropractor, which I hope comes across in the way I work with you. Some of my experience is outlined below.
Originally an engineer, which helps as I lecture on the chiropractic degree course in biomechanics (the study of how we move and the impact of forces on our body) a subject in which which I have a masters degree.
Studied fitness training and sports injuries when I owned a health club which means I can work with you and if needed, your personal trainers, to ensure nothing you are doing is hindering your recovery or causing discomfort.
Additionally with masters degrees in both Pain Management and Psychology (with a focus on pain and headaches) I am able to provide you with relevant guidance and help with pain solutions especially headaches.
The co-author of the Soft Tissue Release Handbook: reducing pain improving performance, a sports and remedial soft tissue approach which I teach and use alongside chiropractic.
Founder of Headache Clinics UK an organisation aimed at helping a range of headache patients via multidisciplinary approaches. A member of Migraine Action Charity medical advisory board. My research includes links between neck pain and migraine and emotions and migraine. Instigator of Postgraduate Headache studies at University of Edinburgh and part of faculty team.
Special Interests include headaches, shoulder problems and working with Dancers, Musicians, Runners, Golfers and Skiers. Call for more information on these areas.
Finally, although I enjoy learning as my qualifications show, my aim is to bring this knowledge to the clinic to help you. As a research supervisor on the chiropractic degree I am also in the fortunate position of having to keep up to date. We can never know enough and in the health care profession things change all the time and so we must ensure our treatment is based on the best evidence.
